Stéphane Denève To Conduct Leaders Orchestra

Through the collaborative efforts of the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County’s Education Department and Miami Music Project, Philadelphia Orchestra Principal Guest Conductor Stéphane Denève will conduct our Leaders Orchestra. On Thursday, February 25th, 6pm at Citrus Grove Middle School, our Little Havana Chapter, Denève will inspire our orchestra’s advanced students, ages 9-18.

Born and raised in France, Maestro Denève conducts the world’s greatest orchestra and opera companies. His 2015-2016 season with The Philadelphia Orchestra includes his first tour with the ensemble, of Florida, and a two-week focus on the music of John Williams. Mr. Denève is also chief conductor of the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra and chief conductor of the Brussels Philharmonic and director of its Centre for Future Orchestra Repertoire.

Mr. Denève and the Leaders Orchestra will work on the third and fourth movements from Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 and the Prelude from Wagner’s Die Meistersinger in preparation for the March 12th concert at the Manuel Artime Theater. Along with this opportunity, the Arsht Center will also provide free tickets to Miami Music Project’s young musicians to attend the evening’s concert at the Arsht Center’s Knight Concert Hall.
