Miami Music Project (“MMP,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of our students, families, employees, program participants, donors, volunteers, and community members. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information provided to us.

Information We Collect

We may collect personal information including names, email addresses, telephone numbers, mailing addresses, student or participant information, enrollment information, and other information voluntarily provided through our website, enrollment forms, applications, registrations, donations, or communications with Miami Music Project.

For students and other minor participants, MMP does not collect mobile telephone numbers directly from children. Mobile telephone numbers associated with a minor’s enrollment or participation are collected only from the parent or legal guardian who provides the number.

How We Use Information

We use personal information to administer our programs and services; communicate with students, parents and guardians, employees, volunteers, donors, and other members of our community; provide program, scheduling, enrollment, event, operational, and organizational updates; process donations; respond to inquiries; and fulfill other legitimate organizational and administrative purposes.

SMS/Text Messaging

When a parent, guardian, or other individual voluntarily provides a mobile telephone number and consents to receive SMS/MMS communications from Miami Music Project, we may use that number to send program-related communications, including scheduling information, reminders, announcements, updates, and other relevant organizational communications. From time to time, with separate consent, we may also send fundraising or donation-related text messages.

As noted above, mobile telephone numbers for minor participants are collected only from a parent or legal guardian, not from the child directly.

Participation in our SMS messaging program is voluntary. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Recipients may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to a message. Recipients may reply HELP or contact us at info@miamimusicproject.org for assistance.

Donations and Payment Processing

Donations made to Miami Music Project through our website are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. When you make a donation, your payment card and billing information are collected and processed directly by Stripe in accordance with Stripe’s own privacy policy and security practices. Miami Music Project does not receive or store your full payment card number.

Mobile Information and SMS Consent

Miami Music Project does not sell, rent, share, or provide mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in information, or SMS consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties for their marketing or promotional purposes.

We may share information with service providers (such as our SMS/text messaging platform) solely as necessary to operate and deliver our communications and programs. These service providers are not permitted to use mobile information or SMS consent data for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

Information Sharing

Miami Music Project does not sell personal information. We may disclose information to service providers that assist us in operating our organization and providing services (such as our SMS platform and Stripe for payment processing), when reasonably necessary for those purposes, or when required by law.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including administering programs, maintaining donor and participant records, and meeting our legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. When personal information is no longer needed for these purposes, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or de-identify it.

Data Security

We take reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, misuse, alteration, or loss.

Your Choices

You may contact us to review, correct, or request deletion of your information, or to discontinue certain communications. SMS recipients may opt out at any time by replying STOP. We will respond to requests within a reasonable time.

Changes to This Policy

Miami Music Project may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on our website with a revised “Last Updated” date.
