Miami Music Project String Quintet Represents City and Nation During Festival de Saint-Denis/Métis in France
On May 21st, 22nd and 24th, 2014, Miami Music Project String Quintet performed three concerts as part of the Festival de Saint-Denis/Métis, in France. Violinist, Sage McBride (Broward Virtual School), 16; violinist Ana Luna Uribe (Miami Arts Charter), 18; violist Srivishnu Ramankutty (New World School of the Arts), 17; cellist Santiago Luna (Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School), 17; and double bassist Kebra-Seyoun Charles (New World School of the Arts), 17, came together as the best of the best young musicians from the Miami Music Project Youth Orchestra’s string section to participate in this event. They represent the only ensemble from Miami, more the Unites States, to perform in Métis.
Created in 1969, the Festival de Saint-Denis, located in northern Paris, each year welcome the most prestigious artists in classical music. The Festival invites artists of all backgrounds and cultures in the project called Métis, which was created 10 years ago.
